Anime Expeditions Team Builder
Build around four jobs before chasing a full damage roster: one proven carry, economy when the opening supports it, a buffer that matches the carry, and control for dense waves or bosses. Filter ten current team cores and choose the route that solves the first repeated failure.
What this page is for
A role-first team tool for choosing a complete lane without pretending one fixed roster is best in every mode.
Use the page in three moves
Query first, test second, recover cleanly
Team core and best-team builder is a server-rendered reference with a light selector layered on top. Start from the named blocker, narrow once, and leave the full answer visible when a filter would hide useful context.
- 01Name the job
Start with the player problem, then use the search a unit, mode, damage type, or team problem control instead of scanning every row.
- 02Read one matching record
Use the team core and best-team builder result to compare the job, fields, confidence, and safe next action before changing another variable.
- 03Verify the live result
Run the smallest test that can disprove the current plan, keep the baseline you can reproduce, and record the exact condition that changes your next move.
Start from the failed wave
The best Anime Expeditions team is the one that covers the missing job
Use the builder after naming the leak, boss problem, economy delay, control gap, or scaling failure—not before.
Classify the first failure you can see. An opening leak asks for a faster start or less economy; a dense wave asks for more control or firing time; a boss asks for sustained pressure, a mark, or a buffer; a late upgrade asks for an economy route that does not sacrifice the opening. The same unit can be correct in one mode and wrong in another because the route changes the job it must perform.
Read each team core as a relationship between a carry, support, control, and economy slot. Shadow, 8th Sword, Cursed Student, Puppet, Salmon Sorcerer, Ramen Guy, and the other named records are not interchangeable cards: their value depends on placement, activation timing, target access, and the mode filter currently selected.
Keep the map, mode, and most of the roster stable while replacing one slot. The goal is not to produce a permanent six-slot answer; it is to learn whether the replacement changes the first failure you named. Once the route is stable, the Units, Traits, Equipment, and Evolution pages can own the next investment decision.
- OpeningProtect early upgrades before adding a late-wave specialist.
- ControlBuy time when enemies leave the carry zone too quickly.
- BossConcentrate mark, buffer, and sustained damage on the real target window.
Read the route cost
A team core includes the investment and placement conditions
A named lineup is only actionable when the account can obtain, place, and support its units in the selected mode.
Before changing the roster, check the exact Unit Form, obtain route, trait, equipment, evolution, and placement constraint behind the core. If one unit is unavailable, replace the role rather than the name: a compatible opening, control, or economy record is a safer substitute than a famous unit that cannot enter the current route.
Economy is part of team design. Ramen Guy or Stone Alchemist can move an upgrade timeline, but only when the opening can survive the investment. Likewise, Puppet or Salmon Sorcerer adds value by extending useful attack time; placing them late or outside the carry lane can leave the team looking complete while the original leak remains.
The builder therefore returns a role-complete starting point, not a simulated guarantee. Use it to choose one comparison and then verify the live wave, placement, and reward panel. Unsupported damage math, exact drop rates, and universal tier claims stay outside the decision.
- AccessConfirm the Form and obtain route before planning the slot.
- PlacementKeep the carry, buffer, and control areas connected to the target wave.
- BudgetUse economy only when it does not create the opening failure.
Recover without roster churn
Change one role, repeat the same stage, and keep the baseline
A stronger-looking team can still lose for the same reason; recovery starts by identifying the unchanged failure.
If the team gets stronger but the same wave fails, restore the last working core and inspect placement, trait, equipment, and mode before adding raw power. If an evolution is blocked, choose a reachable intermediate milestone rather than farming a guessed gate. If a new reward arrives, verify it in the live inventory or mail destination before rebuilding the team around it.
When several slots look attractive, choose the one that owns the repeated failure and hold the rest steady. Record whether the change moved the first leak, shortened the boss window, created control time, or brought the next upgrade earlier. If none changed, the next action is diagnosis, not another reroll.
This gives the team page a natural handoff: use Units for the exact Form, Evolution for the material route, Traits and Equipment for the loadout layer, and the live stage for the final placement check. The builder is valuable because it narrows a team decision; it should not replace those specialized checks.
- RestoreKeep the last working core as the comparison team.
- ReplaceChange only the unit that owns the first repeated failure.
- VerifyRepeat the same stage before spending another scarce resource.
Grouped by mode and blocker
Damage, economy, support, control
Narrow the next team job
Progression order
Choose a role → test one slot → keep the working core
The builder narrows the next comparison. It does not replace the live stage check that proves placement, timing, and the actual route job.
- 1Name the failure
Choose opening, economy, boss, control, or scaling from the first repeated problem.
- 2Filter the core
Select the mode, damage plan, and blocker that describe the current stage.
- 3Replace one role owner
Keep the rest of the roster, map, and spending plan stable while testing the candidate.
- 4Verify and hand off
Use Units, Traits, Equipment, or Evolution only after the team change alters the named failure.
Team Core Builder
Team core and best-team builder
Build around four jobs before chasing a full damage roster: one proven carry, economy when the opening supports it, a buffer that matches the carry, and control for dense waves or bosses. Filter ten current team cores and choose the route that solves the first repeated failure.
Beginner four-job core
One current carry + Stone Alchemist or Ramen Guy + Ice Mage or Salmon Sorcerer + a matching buffer. Cover damage, economy, and control before optimizing a second carry.
- Core units
- One current carry + Stone Alchemist or Ramen Guy + Ice Mage or Salmon Sorcerer + a matching buffer
- Best modes
- Story, Challenge
- Main job
- Cover damage, economy, and control before optimizing a second carry.
- Replacement rule
- Replace the weakest temporary unit only when the new unit covers the same job.
Cover damage, economy, and control before optimizing a second carry.
Place the farm unit early, stabilize the lane, then upgrade the carry that is actually stopping leaks.
Replace the weakest temporary unit only when the new unit covers the same job.
A roster full of damage units can still fail because it reaches upgrades late or cannot slow a dense wave.
Shadow Magical core
Shadow (Divine) + Elf Mage (Unleashed) + Forbidden Teacher + Salmon Sorcerer. Keep the main Magical carry inside Shadow and Forbidden Teacher coverage while Salmon creates more attack time.
- Core units
- Shadow (Divine) + Elf Mage (Unleashed) + Forbidden Teacher + Salmon Sorcerer
- Best modes
- Story, Infinite, Raid, Challenge, Expedition
- Main job
- Keep the main Magical carry inside Shadow and Forbidden Teacher coverage while Salmon creates more attack time.
- Replacement rule
- Keep Ramen Guy when the stage needs economy; replace the lower-impact damage slot before removing control.
Keep the main Magical carry inside Shadow and Forbidden Teacher coverage while Salmon creates more attack time.
Build the buffed damage zone first, then move Salmon so its inner-range Stagger catches the boss before the lane exit.
Keep Ramen Guy when the stage needs economy; replace the lower-impact damage slot before removing control.
Two buffers do nothing when the intended carry is placed outside their range.
8th Sword Physical core
8th Sword (Berserk) + The Hero + Salmon Sorcerer + Ramen Guy or a second Physical carry. Give 8th Sword enough wave length and takedowns to reach Berserk while The Hero amplifies the real carry zone.
- Core units
- 8th Sword (Berserk) + The Hero + Salmon Sorcerer + Ramen Guy or a second Physical carry
- Best modes
- Infinite, Raid, Challenge, Expedition
- Main job
- Give 8th Sword enough wave length and takedowns to reach Berserk while The Hero amplifies the real carry zone.
- Replacement rule
- Keep the farm or control slot until the carry reaches Berserk reliably; do not replace both for more late damage.
Give 8th Sword enough wave length and takedowns to reach Berserk while The Hero amplifies the real carry zone.
Use a faster opening unit if the stage leaks before 8th Sword reaches its momentum threshold.
Keep the farm or control slot until the carry reaches Berserk reliably; do not replace both for more late damage.
A top late-wave carry is not the best answer when the team loses before its passive activates.
Puppet boss-control core
Puppet (Telekinetic) + Salmon Sorcerer + one proven carry + Ramen Guy or a damage buffer. Mark the strongest target early, convert it into a doll, and use rewind plus Slow/Stagger to extend the boss damage window.
- Core units
- Puppet (Telekinetic) + Salmon Sorcerer + one proven carry + Ramen Guy or a damage buffer
- Best modes
- Infinite, Raid, Challenge, Expedition
- Main job
- Mark the strongest target early, convert it into a doll, and use rewind plus Slow/Stagger to extend the boss damage window.
- Replacement rule
- Replace the extra carry before removing Puppet when the failure is route time rather than raw damage.
Mark the strongest target early, convert it into a doll, and use rewind plus Slow/Stagger to extend the boss damage window.
Place Puppet where the boss enters range before the main damage zone, then confirm rewind creates a useful second pass.
Replace the extra carry before removing Puppet when the failure is route time rather than raw damage.
Late placement can waste the mark and rewind after the boss has already crossed the strongest lane.
Cursed Student Bleed core
Cursed Student (True Love) + Salmon Sorcerer + one buffer or control unit + economy when needed. Protect a long attack cycle so third-hit follow-ups and Bleed-fed Bat Spirits keep firing.
- Core units
- Cursed Student (True Love) + Salmon Sorcerer + one buffer or control unit + economy when needed
- Best modes
- Infinite, Raid, Challenge, Expedition
- Main job
- Protect a long attack cycle so third-hit follow-ups and Bleed-fed Bat Spirits keep firing.
- Replacement rule
- Use Draconic or Forsaken only after the status and crit plan is visible in the live build.
Protect a long attack cycle so third-hit follow-ups and Bleed-fed Bat Spirits keep firing.
Test one long wave before spending premium rerolls; confirm both the follow-up and spirit loop contribute.
Use Draconic or Forsaken only after the status and crit plan is visible in the live build.
Judging the unit from a short wave hides the part of the kit that earns the slot.
Flame Emperor and Hollow Burn core
Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) + Hollow (Blaze) + Salmon Sorcerer + Ramen Guy or a buffer. Apply Burn before Hollow attacks so the payoff unit receives its damage condition instead of acting as a standalone carry.
- Core units
- Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) + Hollow (Blaze) + Salmon Sorcerer + Ramen Guy or a buffer
- Best modes
- Story, Infinite, Challenge
- Main job
- Apply Burn before Hollow attacks so the payoff unit receives its damage condition instead of acting as a standalone carry.
- Replacement rule
- Replace Hollow first if the Burn setup is inconsistent; keep Flame Emperor when wave clear is still useful.
Apply Burn before Hollow attacks so the payoff unit receives its damage condition instead of acting as a standalone carry.
Place Wall of Fire on the path section that remains inside allied range, then watch whether Hollow hits already-burning targets.
Replace Hollow first if the Burn setup is inconsistent; keep Flame Emperor when wave clear is still useful.
Hollow loses its main advantage when no stable Burn source reaches the target first.
Story economy core
Ramen Guy + one fast-starting carry + one control unit + one flexible progression slot. Reach the carry upgrades earlier without letting the farm slot become the reason the opening leaks.

- Replace Stone Alchemist with Ramen Guy; replace filler DPS before replacing control.
Reach the carry upgrades earlier without letting the farm slot become the reason the opening leaks.
Place only the economy the current wave can support, then shift spending into the fastest reliable clear.
Replace Stone Alchemist with Ramen Guy; replace filler DPS before replacing control.
Overbuilding economy can delay the first damage upgrade past the leak point.
Infinite scaling core
8th Sword (Berserk) or Cursed Student (True Love) + Puppet + Salmon Sorcerer + Ramen Guy or a matching buffer. Combine a ramping carry with rewind, Slow, Stagger, and enough economy to reach expensive upgrades.

- Replacement rule
- Swap the ramping carry for Shadow when the stage needs faster universal value.
Combine a ramping carry with rewind, Slow, Stagger, and enough economy to reach expensive upgrades.
Measure whether the carry reaches its passive threshold before the first dangerous wave, then tune only the missing job.
Swap the ramping carry for Shadow when the stage needs faster universal value.
Stacking only late-game units can create an opening-wave failure the final build never gets to solve.
Raid boss lane core
Puppet + one S+ carry + Salmon Sorcerer + a damage-type buffer. Create one concentrated boss lane with mark, control, and a buffer that matches the chosen carry.

Choose Magical or Physical before placing the buffer; use Shadow/Forbidden Teacher for Magical or The Hero for Physical.
Keep a matchup utility slot such as Water Princess when the live Raid applies a dangerous debuff.
A mixed lane can waste a specialized aura and leave the real carry outside the control window.
Challenge control core
Salmon Sorcerer + Puppet or Ice Queen + one carry + economy or matchup support. Buy more firing time when dense waves or special enemies outrun otherwise sufficient damage.

Move the control line earlier before adding more damage; confirm the same enemies remain inside the carry range longer.
Replace Ice Queen after Salmon Sorcerer or Puppet covers the same control job more broadly.
Adding a third damage unit does not fix enemies that spend too little time inside the damage zone.
Try a unit name, one mode, or remove a damage or blocker filter.
When the answer does not fit
Recover a team that looks strong but still loses
Name the first failed job before replacing the whole roster.
- 1Find the first leak
Separate opening pressure, dense-wave control, boss damage, and upgrade timing.
- 2Name the missing job
Damage, farm, buffer, control, or matchup protection should have one owner.
- 3Replace one slot
Swap the unit that fails that job while keeping the other three variables stable.
- 4Retest the same stage
A different map or mode hides whether the team change fixed the original problem.
Decision table
Choose the next slot by the failure
Choose the row that matches the failure in front of you; the action is a bounded next experiment, not a hidden-stat guarantee.
| Situation | Action | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Leaks before upgrades | Faster-starting carry or less economy | The final build is irrelevant if the opening never stabilizes. |
| Dense wave outruns damage | Add Salmon Sorcerer, Puppet, or another control answer | More firing time can outperform another standalone damage slot. |
| Boss survives the lane | Add mark, buffer, or sustained carry | Boss pressure needs uptime and specialization. |
| Upgrades arrive too late | Use Ramen Guy deliberately | Economy solves timing only when the opening can support it. |

Player questions
Team Builder FAQ
Use the current game panel before spending rare resources on a value that can change.
What is the best Anime Expeditions team?
The best team covers the current failure: a carry, economy when needed, a matching buffer, and enough control. Shadow Magical, 8th Sword Physical, Puppet boss-control, and Burn cores solve different modes.
Should every team use Ramen Guy?
Use Ramen Guy when the opening can support an economy slot and expensive upgrades arrive too late. Remove or delay it when early waves leak.
How do I build around Shadow?
Keep a Magical carry inside Shadow and Forbidden Teacher coverage, then place Salmon Sorcerer so Slow and inner-range Stagger extend the same damage zone.
Why does a high-tier team still lose?
Check the first failed job: opening damage, economy timing, crowd control, boss uptime, or a mismatched Physical or Magical buffer.
Does the tool choose a full in-game lineup?
No. It returns role-complete team cores. Confirm the live team size, placement limits, and current roster before finalizing every slot.
